As a Conservative Republican, I believe in the basic core values of small government, states rights, the rule of law, low taxes & fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, and a secure border.

I believe strongly in the 2nd Amendment. All citizens have a God-given right to protect themselves and their families. This fundamental right should never be infringed. As your Sheriff, I will continue to uphold that right and always be a strong advocate for the 2nd Amendment.

The U.S. Constitution is built upon the fundamental principle that the source of all government power is the people. That power and authority vested in and through individual citizens ensure that human beings are, by nature, equal, free, and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. These principles are essential to our way of life, and as your Sheriff, I will always protect your freedom.

Property Rights must be protected. These are among the most significant of all our liberties as Tennesseans. I strongly support and defend our rights to earn a living and own property - not as privileges but as fundamental rights. Our rights as property owners must be defended, or other rights will erode through time.

In my first year as Sheriff, here are some of the results we've delivered:

32nd Judicial Drug Task Force
On February 24, 2025, I was appointed Sheriff of Lewis County. During the last year as Sheriff, one of my first goals was to help create this district's first Drug Task Force. With the assistance of the DA and the other Sheriffs of this judicial district, this is now a reality. It has been extremely successful in making numerous arrests and getting drugs out of Lewis County.

Inmate Programs
One of my top priorities has been strengthening inmate rehabilitation. Recently, we partnered with the South Central Workforce Alliance to provide evidence-based programming for all inmates, including GED preparation, substance abuse recovery, anger management, parenting, and trauma education.
We also partnered with local agencies to provide individual and group therapy with a licensed therapist, family education, and relapse prevention counseling. The American Job Center offers resume building, leadership development, and interview skills to help inmates successfully re-enter the workforce.
Additionally, 19 volunteers lead voluntary Bible studies for those who choose to participate.
Our mission is simple: when individuals enter our jail, we provide the tools they need to heal, grow, and successfully reintegrate into our community.

Drone Program
As new technologies become available that save lives and support the rule of law, it’s critical that Sheriff’s Departments evaluate their usefulness and incorporate those technologies. In my first year as Sheriff, our department established an FAA-certified Drone Unit & Program tasked with conducting missions to meet our mission to “Protect & Serve”. While drones have undoubtedly demonstrated their capability to provide first responders with added mission capability, I will ensure we not only follow all restrictions on their operation under FAA regulations and the TN Code, but also ensure the protection of our personal privacy and security.
